In this release:
New & Improved Features
Collection Page
- Significant improvements have been made to the Collection Page based on user feedback. The changes include:
- Removal of right-click action selection. Users reported this to be confusing, so we removed this behavior. You can now use the toolbar buttons exclusively to complete your desired actions.
- Removal of the checkboxes. Users can now complete selections by :
- Highlighting their desired content by clicking on the item.
- Batch selecting a subset of items by holding down the Shift key while making a first and last selection to select all items in between.
- Deselecting items by holding down the Shift key while making a first and last selection to select all items in between.
- Deselect items one by one by holding down the Command key.
- Updating the collection level icon to match the icon used on the dashboard.
- The “Filter list by name” box on the Collections Page is now wider to accommodate longer text strings.
For more information, check out the Managing Collections section in the Help Center.
Fixity Report Emails
- An automated email will now be sent to any Vault Admin roles and their associated email address notifying them that a fixity audit and repair operation has been completed on a given collection and a report for it is available. For more information about the fixity audit and report process, check out the Interpreting Fixity Reports article in the Help Center.
Deposit Page UI improvements
- When preparing a deposit with the web uploader, users can now easily select additional files to be included in the deposit. If a selection of files has already been made on the deposit page, an “Add more files” button now displays below the deposit preview pane, allowing users to easily browse, select, and add more files to be included in the deposit.
- Contrast changes were made to improve the readability of highlighted selections
Minor UI improvements and bug fixes
- Metadata now appears immediately after being added, without any need to refresh your browser.
- Links in Vault now open in new browser tabs where relevant.
- On the Dashboard, various changes were made to the names and titles of, and within, some cards, for better clarity, specificity, and consistency of terminology.
