Vault Release Notes: July 2024

July 2024 Release Overview

Internet Archive upgraded the Vault service to Version 1.5.0 in July 2024. This release includes feature improvements to the Dashboard, Collections, and Deposit pages, updates to the public API, and minor UI improvements. New & Improved Features

Collections Page 

• If you have over 100 collections, folders, or files in Vault, pagination now displays in the Collections table. This makes it easier for you to navigate and manage your content. 

• The Collections Page Discovery Panel is now filterable and has had minor design updates.
• Improvements have been made to the ‘Deposit Here’ workflow from the Collections page. When you click on ‘Deposit Here’ from the Collections page, the destination panel on the Deposit page now scrolls to and highlights the selected location. 

• Improvements have been made to the ‘Move’ workflow from the Collections page. You can now filter to find and select your desired collection or folder when moving folders and files on the Collection page. 

Deposits

• The Deposit Page’s ‘Select a destination for your files’ pane is now filterable and has had minor design updates.

• Vault staff may sometimes need to briefly disable the deposit feature while performing upgrades or maintenance. In that event, you will now see a new “temporarily disabled” message on the Deposits page while this maintenance is in progress.  
• If a deposit is disrupted on the user’s end, an automated email will now be sent to notify them that some files were not completely received by Vault, as well as why and what to do next.

Fixity Reports API

• The API for fixity reports can now be used with basic authentication through Vault user credentials. Previously, authentication was only granted via API key. All Vault user roles except Viewers can access the API to query fixity reports using their Vault username and password. For more information, please see: https://vault.archive-it.org/api/v1/docs

Minor UI Improvements

• Enhancements have been made to improve the content load time of the Dashboard and Reports pages. 
• Across the Vault app, minor icon changes have been made for better clarity, specificity, and consistency.
